Step-In Leather Dog Harness Pico for Small Dogs

With a step-in harness, your dog steps directly into the openings with their front paws - they don't have to push their head through a tight loop. This makes putting it on particularly stress-free, especially for dogs that don't like having something pulled over their head. The harness lies flat on the floor, your dog steps in, and you snap the buckle shut at the top - done.

Lay the harness flat in front of your dog and guide them to step with both front paws into the respective openings. Then pull the harness up along the back and close the buckle at the top. Adjust all straps so the harness fits snugly without pinching - two fingers should still fit between the leather and the body. With a little treat as a reward, putting it on will quickly become routine.

The Pico is designed specifically for small and very small dogs. It is particularly well suited to breeds such as Chihuahua, Toy Poodle, Yorkshire Terrier, Maltese, Pomeranian, Papillon, or similar. Since small dogs can vary considerably in build, we recommend using the measurements as your guide rather than relying solely on weight or breed.

Measure your dog's chest circumference at the widest point, approximately one hand's width behind the front legs. The tape measure should fit loosely so that two fingers can still fit underneath. You'll find the corresponding value in the size chart on the product page. If your dog falls between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size.

The Pico is made from soft cowhide leather with soft inner padding that ensures comfortable wear and prevents pressure points. The D-rings and adjuster are made from solid brass - rust-free and durable. The buckle is a robust plastic side-release buckle that is easy and safe to open and close.

For everyday cleaning, a soft, slightly damp cloth is sufficient. For tougher dirt, use a mild leather cleaner. To keep the leather supple in the long term, we recommend regular treatment with leather balm and protection with a waterproofing spray. Do not put in the washing machine, do not soak, and do not dry in direct sunlight or near a heater.

The Pico is not designed for prolonged contact with water. Getting a little wet in the rain or splashing through a puddle is fine, as long as you allow the harness to air dry afterwards. For bathing trips or extended swimming, we recommend removing the harness beforehand. After getting wet, dry the leather at room temperature and then treat it with leather balm.
